The Newest Yankee

Here is a bit of news from the Yankees farm system.  The Yanks have just signed Miguel Andujar this past weekend.  Andujar is a 16 year old third baseman playing in the Dominican Prospect League.  The righty stands at 6’ 1” and 180 lbs.  Andujar was named the Top 3rd baseman in the Dominican Prospect League by Baseball America, and is known for a good swing, bat speed and overall good approach.  Some scouts think his potential is to hit for average and power.  These projections will have to play themselves out as Andujar begins his career with the Yankees outside of the Dominican League.
Andujar signed for $700,000 with the Yanks which is slightly lower than the $750,000 Dante Bichette Jr received a few weeks back after being drafted by the Yankees in their first pick of the draft.  It seems like Bichette and Andujar will compete for that third baseman slot once Arod is gone.  I realize I am getting ahead of myself because they both have a long way to go before they are ready for MLB.
Here is a video of Andujar
